Mohamed Soliman was born in Cairo, Egypt on October 25, 1944. Mohamed was raised in the bristling capital of Egypt alongside his two younger brothers – the youngest is a doctor currently living and working in Kuwait, with the other a Chief Accountant in Saudi Arabia. Mohamed attended college at Cairo University, a public institution in the heart of Cairo.
Following graduation from college in 1968, Mohamed immediately began working towards his goal of becoming a successful professional in the field of Information Technology. In 1977, Mohamed caught his break in the form of a new and promising IT Project Manager position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This opportunity encompassed an ambitious plan to establish an unprecedented telecommunications network comprising telephone, telegraph and telex services for the entire Kingdom. Mohamed played an integral role in overseeing the eventual successful implementation of this groundbreaking effort.
After several years of employment, Mohamed’s next professional endeavor led him to Kuwait City. Similar to his position in Saudi Arabia, Mohamed once again seized a Project Manager position working with the Kuwait Ministry of Interior. This large, complex effort required expertise in the areas of hardware, software, and various platforms including a unique IBM mainframe system. The to-be Ministry of Interior systems would span a variety of objectives, including country-wide criminal reporting, board station control, and visa issuance(s).
Upon completion of his endeavors in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Mohamed’s next goal was to leverage his acquired IT and Project Management knowledge to make his biggest career jump to date: pursuit of new opportunities in the United States. In 1990, Mohamed moved to Alexandria, Virginia and quickly acclimated himself with new surroundings. He leveraged a successful IT background, and since coming to the United States, has strung together an array of IT accomplishments. These feats include positions working with well-renowned companies such as AMTRAK, AT&T, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, EDS Corporation, Mobil Oil Corporation, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Currently, Mohamed continues work in his IT profession, while also acting as a Real Estate and Insurance Agent. He currently is married and has three sons living with him in the Northern Virginia-Washington DC metropolitan area. As he has throughout his life, Mohamed continues to passionately follow professional futbol across the world.
